THE FACTS:

• ALS is a fatal neurological disease with no known cause or cure. Yet.
   
•  It can strike any adult, any race, male or female at any age:

• Typical survival is only  2-5 years from diagnosis.  
   
• The prevalence of ALS  is approximately 6-8 in 100,000.  
   

  Was that your seat? Maybe favorite player? The fan next to you?

   

• The nerve cells that operate the voluntary muscles known as motor neurons, begin to sicken and die.  The muscles atrophy, that is, they waste away.  
   
• It will affect ALL voluntary muscles including speech, respiratory, swallowing and even eye movement.  
   
• The mind remains unaffected as do the five senses.  They are keenly aware of everything that is happening to them and their families.
